Our practice philosophy is that with proper care your teeth can and should last a lifetime. Before restoring teeth, the gums (with supporting bone) need to be in state of health. If they are not, it is like building a building on a weak foundation.
We will examine your teeth and gums and perform a thorough and meticulous cleaning and polishing of your teeth. We also teach our patients develop proper oral hygiene habits at home. We will evaluate your hygiene techniques and make adjustments to your routine where needed. We will also make suggestions for preventative measures such as dental sealants or nightguards to protect against bruxism and TMJ.
If we see that you have gingivitis or more severe gum disease, we may recommend a root scaling or planing. These measures can be instrumental in preventing bone loss and helping you to keep your natural teeth.
